Important: Scalpra instruments are supplied non-sterile. Clean and sterilize before first use, and follow your facility's validated procedures and local regulations.
After use
Remove blood and tissue quickly and keep instruments moist until cleaning. Never soak in saline, bleach or chlorine.
Cleaning
Open hinged instruments. Use a neutral pH or enzymatic detergent with soft nylon brushes or an ultrasonic cleaner. Rinse with distilled water and dry fully.
Lubrication and sterilization
Apply water-soluble instrument lubricant to joints. Steam sterilize with a validated autoclave cycle, with hinged instruments open or on the first ratchet click.
Storage
Store clean and dry, with tip protectors on fine instruments.
